Lloyd Kaisi Phiri …. My job as Head of News and Current Affairs at MIJ FM is to among others ensure that all the Current Affairs programmes are up to the required standard.

The hobby that makes me feel at home is singing and listening to Accapella Music. Before, I used to like playing and watching football, but due to some personal reasons, my interest in this area has – over the years - declined to worrisome levels.

 If only I had continued playing football the way I used to do several years ago, by now, I could not have been surprised to see myself rubbing shoulders with the likes of Peter Mponda or Essau Kanyenda in the Malawi National Soccer team.

In all my life, I have found it difficult to like backbiters because I am a straight-forward person. Over the years, I have learnt the importance of being a straight-forward person, because I have come to realize that things can –in no way- be corrected through back-biting.

I am always open to criticisms because that what I believe has helped me to reach this point. “A person, who refuses to take criticism, does not improve in anything he / she does, because he does not realize that he is going astray.”
